One thing too often unsaid, is how much the stud culture actually benefited women. Once, men were judged by how much they could score. Masturbation and paying for sex were the tools of losers and degenerates. To be considered a real man, he had to be able to get with at least one decent girl, if not as many as possible. All she had to look was look appealing, and he would provide the rest. Everything ranging from dinner and entertainment to a supportive marriage, Even the biggest tomcats eventually had to settle down with someone.

The only real threat was if the guy slept around, and as we now know, women were just as apt to this as well. Once divorce became mainstream, there was no problem with dumping a guy once he was snagged.

This is changing though. There is less stigma attached to alternatives to dealing with women or holding out for one that actually has substance. The sexually liberated women, giving up the one asset they’re born with, now have to work harder than ever to convince a man she’s worth the trouble. They’re only snagging the beta males. And despite the rep beta males have, in this economy, none of them are rolling in the dough like we all expected the geeks to be.
